About

Honolulu Disposal Service, Inc. is a well-established private waste management and recycling company based in Honolulu, Hawaii, that has been operating for decades and grown into one of the largest refuse removal and recycling service providers in the state. Founded in 1967 by Hideo Kaneshiro with just one truck and two employees, the company expanded significantly over the years under family leadership and is now led by his son, Clyde Kaneshiro, who has propelled it into the 21st century with a modern fleet and hundreds of employees serving both commercial and residential clients. Honolulu Disposal offers a wide array of services, including front-end loader waste collection, open-top container delivery and hauling, compactor sales and installation, daily solid-waste pickup, material recycling, maintenance and repairs, and LEED program compliance. The company is deeply rooted in the local community and plays an important role in recycling efforts throughout the island of Oahu — helping divert materials such as food waste, paper, aluminum, plastic, and glass from landfills and turning valuable waste into new products or energy where possible. Honolulu Disposal also manages its own transfer and recycling facilities and employs skilled professionals focused on efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible waste handling. Their mission emphasizes protecting Hawaii’s natural environment while providing high-quality, dependable service to clients across different sectors. Over 50 years of persistence and investment in sustainable practices have allowed the firm to become one of Hawaii’s most recognized and trusted names in solid-waste management and recycling operations for both businesses and households alike.
